Why Apply for the Ethnic Business Awards?

Simply - To gain recognition.  Recognition of your hard work and your skills and determination.  The EBA’s do so much for the soul!

They also highlight the contribution you have made to your community and your country.  They focus on your efforts and allow you to share the joy of being nominated with your staff.  The journey towards being selected as a finalist can be so useful to any business owner.  Many say it made them even more productive as it gave them the chance to reflect, respond and remind themselves of where it all began.  The EBA’s showcase success and growth, and the stories of those that have defied the odds and conquered all the challenges they have faced.  They place your business in the spotlight and applaud you.  This is what the awards are all about.

The Ethnic Business Awards were created by Mr Joseph Assaf AO to recognise the contribution of migrants and the Indigenous, our First Peoples to the Australian business landscape and the economy at large. In 2019, we proudly became a recognised not for profit charity and as such have become the Ethnic Business Awards Foundation. Every year for more than three decades the Ethnic Business Awards have featured the stories of people who have overcome many difficulties and who have gone on to become extremely successful. They arrive, strive, and succeed.

These amazing stories that are shared with us by our nominees are what keep us working hard. One of the biggest reasons to nominate yourself, or someone you know who meets our criteria would be because these stories matter. Sharing your story is very important and acts as a source of inspiration to many more who are in a similar position. It can make all the difference and  becoming a role model is very powerful and is a wonderful way of giving back.  Sharing your trials and tribulations with generosity and jubilation is what we do so very well.

Nominating yourself for our awards can improve brand awareness and promote your business to a wide range of customers. The EBA’s are broadcast on SBS, NITV, Aurora Community channel (175 Foxtel) and also on Facebook live.  Where else can you get that much coverage?  These awards are unlike any other and have been attended by almost every Prime Minister since inception.   The Awards bring with them many business opportunities and excellent networking. The awards also are a way of recognising the hard work and achievements of your employees and the very act of being shortlisted can help boost staff morale and improve motivation.
